Planning is crucial. Nothing really important or complex can be achieved unless you plan it. A goal without a plan is like a ship without a rudder, eventually disaster is assured.

We have looked at managing your time and getting the most out of every minute of the day, so now we need to tie that efficiency to the achievement of the goals you set at the beginning of the process. This is where planning comes in. Planning to achieve your goals is vital. As we said at the beginning, all you ever need to know is where you are now, where you want to get to and what the next step is. Now what we are going to do is break the goals down into manageable pieces and sort out what we want to achieve in the coming month, week and then day.
Only when you know where you are trying to get to can you know the right direction to take. So it is important to decide what you want to achieve in the first month, week and day. So we will look at each in turn.

Before we do that there is a way of thinking about your goals that will increase the effectiveness of your planning and ensure your success with every one of them. It will remove the get-out clauses and counter the excuses even before you get started. This is what is called inevitability thinking, and it will change the way you plan your life. Once you understand this way of looking at your planning, you will see the power you really have in your own mind.
